Screen res impacts R&R 9 reports
Screen res impacts R&R 9 reports
I have a R&R 6.5 report which contains a great deal of shading & boxes which I have now saved as an R&R 9 report. All seems to work OK!____However I have another user who keeps coming to me showing me the report with the shading & boxes "all over the place". I re-create the report in R&R 9 again from the 6.5 version and the next day the same thing happens again - thankfully I kept the 6.5 version!!!____At first I thought it was the user inadvertently changing something & saving the report. So I re-created the report again on my PC and all was OK. Then I jumped on the 2nd PC, called up the report & sure enough when I preview or print the report it is wrong again. If I exit without saving the report it is still OK on my machine, but if I save the report on the 2nd machine it^s now wrong on my machine as well!____After pulling my hair for a few hours I find that the only difference between the 2 PC^s is that my PC is set to 1024 X 768 Large Fonts whereas the 2nd PC is set to 1024 X 768 SMALL Fonts. When I edit the report on my machine the fields on the BODY line appear with about a 2cm gap between the fields but on the second machine they overlap, and various other visual differences. Surely, the resolution of the monitor doesn^t effect the PHYSICAL R&R layout!!! So I changed the 2nd PC to use Large Fonts and the report works fine - change it back to Small Fonts and the problem comes back.____I have never had a problem like this with any other software and its not feasible to ensure that every possible PC that may run a R&R report will have its resolution set to the same as my machine. ____Anyone else experienced this problem??____TIA____Rick

This is not one I have seen before.__Do you see the problem in more than one report ie. is it easily reproduced?____Kathleen__R&R Support
