Error on Restarting report

Post by DAVE_I » Wed Aug 08, 2007 10:16 pm

I^m successfully (so far) running reports from within a VB.NET application using the OCX. The only issue I^ve found so far is that while viewing the report onscreen (quite successfully) and then selecting Restart, when the user is prompted for changing the query condition this error appears: "Unknown or ambiquous group field ^EMP^" Then the report viewer shuts down and I^m returned to the original application. I can^t find anything wrong with the grouping and it runs fine in the designer and doesn^t give an error when I restart it there. ____I^m using R&R 12.1

Is EMP indeed a group field in the report? Is the field EMP contained in more that one table in the report? Do you see the error only when you change the parameter field?____Kathleen__R&R Support

No, EMP is the name of a table. I do have a field name in it called EMP_NO, but the error is on group field "EMP". The error only occurs when I restart, after I see the Filter option window and select OK. If I actually change the filter after the restart, I don^t get the error message and the report runs. ____

Is the field you are using in the filter on the report layout? Are you using a parameter field?____Kathleen__R&R Support

No. The exact same thing is happening on other reports as well.
