12.5 Installation

Post by Cliff_Wiernik » Sat Nov 15, 2008 5:48 pm

I know the installation is different with 12.5.____In our installation, currently with 12.0 and before, we have the rruntime and related support files loaded in a directory called g: rwv12. We created that directory by copying the related Reportworks runtime files from the original local computer installation to the network directory.____We print the reports with this version of the runtime call:____ g: rwv12 rwrun controlfile.dbf recordnumber____Are we still able to create a runtime directory in a similar fashion. I do not wish to have the report writer run only off of a local computer and do not wish to do 250+ installations of the viewer only package.____Thanks,____Cliff.

You could copy the 12.5runtime executables to the network folder if you want.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Within our license limitations, we don^t want to have to install the designer on each of the 2 or 3 workstations we use for designing. With V12.0, that is not a problem.____Can we still accomplish this.____

With 12.5 you install would first install the license files out on the server. Then at each workstation you do an install selecting the shared license model and point to the server location of the license file. The exes will be local but the licenses will be shared.____Kathleen__R&R Support
