R&R v10 - Grouping Line Limitations
R&R v10 - Grouping Line Limitations
My current report has three groupings - Member Detail heading, Dependant footing and a Member Detail footing. Each of these groups will grow or shrink depending on the data being extracted.____My issue is that when the combined Member Detail Heading group and the Dependant group grows to 192 lines it forces the Member detail footing to go onto the next page leaving almost a half page of blank lines in the output file. The report has a total of 227 lines____Is this caused by a imitation on the number of lines in a grouping, if not, then is there any other explanation as to why it forces the last grouping to be pushed onto a new page when there is sufficient room to at least add another 40 lines.____Rgds
=> Grouping Line Limitations
It happens because of R&R^s built in widow/orphan control.__R&R does not want to split the footer across pages.__One way to make this less of a problem in your report is to change your group order.__Make the member field groups 1 through 7 (you can use the same field as a group field more than once) and make the dependent field group 7.__Move the current dependent footer to a group 8 band line (and adjust any total you might have).__The split the current group 1 footer bands across footer 1-7 (so the topmost will be group 7, then the next go to 6 etc.) They will all break and print at the same time as in the original report but R&R will only try to keep together the lines that belong to the particular group level. So on your last pages it should fill up the empty space.____Kathleen__R&R Support
