R&R and WinXP

Post by Randal_Ferguson_(Guest) » Wed Jan 02, 2002 1:39 pm

I^m having a problem with reports setup for a custom page size. In previous versions of Windows I could setup a custom page size (8.5 x 7 for example) and design the report using that custom page size. This has worked fine for all versions of Windows prior to XP. With XP there is a way to setup a custom page size but R&R doesn^t seem to recognize it, i.e. it always prints 8.5 x 11. I^ve tried WordPad and other win programs and the are respecting the custom page size. Any idea what the problem is? Using 6.5.08 and 8.1. Need to find a solution ASAP! These reports are invoices that are usually printed on dot matrix printers.____Thanks,__Randal Ferguson

Are you selecting the custom option in File Page Setup in R&R and then defining the page size within the Control panel printers?____Neither 6.5 nor 8.1 have ever been tested under XP. If it works except on XP, then Microsoft must have made a change in how they do things...____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen:____You say that versions 6.5.08 and 8.1 haven^t been tested under XP. Has 9?____I^m having printing problems with Rapid Runner and R&R 8.1 because XP sees printer names with the server name included (\serverprinter) instead of just the printer name. I get the error message: ____!! Report could not complete: Cannot match printer or port in control file____Do you have any suggestions?____Carrie
