Report Writer And WinXP
Report Writer And WinXP
I have this problem with three different pc with OS Windows XP:__in my app i have some reports and one of these generate an error with Windows (the OS shows the report bug error to send to MS). The error is about RRWRUN.EXE). The same report with other OS (Win 9.x or 2000) has not problems. This Report has 5 related tables, one value in parametersString and no other.____Can someone help me to resolve this problem. Is Win XP ? or there are compatibility problems of R&R with this OS (version Home with SP2 installed)____Thanks__

What version of R&R are you using?____We have tested Version 9 on XP home edition and have found no issues.______Kathleen__R&R Support

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Feb-25-02 AT 01:40 PM (EST)]I am running V 9.0 and have had this same error with every XP system that I am using in the office. I am running XP Professional with an administrative account and multiple logins on each system. It would seem like v 9.0 would have a compatability error with XP Pro and I had the error on EVERY instance of running the program until I started running the program from "power user" accounts, then the errors were less often, but still about 10% of the time. It aslo might help to know that our data base is on a networked server NT 4.0 and maybe the error is caused by XP^s different networking processes. Maybe someone could confirm the error to be in effect when working with local data.

Try renaming/removing the file CDINTF.DLL that is in the R&R program directory and see if that helps.____Kathleen__R&R Support
====> RE: Report Writer And WinXP
K, I am trying that to see if it diminishes the errors. One quick question, which dll ? there are two that are exactly the same, one in the programs folder and one in the delphi folder. I have just renamed them BOTH to .dll_bac just to be sure.____Will keep you posted. Also are you more likely to believe the issue is with XP, or THAT PLUS the fact that the data may be networked? I can try using local data to see if I continue getting errors as well, but the issue is bigger than I thought, my programmer has informed me that the error occurs 2/3 times. Never messes up the report or anything, just causes the "send MS error report" on closing the program (annoying ~ :(____Thanks~! Michael

That^s a good fix for that issue. I renamed the dll^s and no longer receive the error when closing down a Report____Thanks Kathleen~!

I have this problem with one WinXP not networked and on one that has application and data on a NT4 networked drive.__

Kathleen, you to get things right on XP you said to "Try renaming/removing the file CDINTF.DLL"____Does this mean the PDF feature won^t work on XP?____Rich__ __

The PDF driver will work on any O/S as long as you have sufficient rights to install a printer as the current login user.______Kathleen__R&R Support
