PDF export R&R 9

Post by edenzel_(Guest) » Fri Jun 21, 2002 8:58 am

I am creating a PDF file to be attached to an email message. When I test the program that calls RRWRUN on my system, it properly creates the PDF, which can be viewed in Acrobat. When I transfer the report, and rrjb file to the user (who has all the required distribution files in their active folder, along with the ACFPDF.DLL and CDINTF.DLL) the PDF file is created in the folder. __However when we try to open it, we receive an error: Acrobat could not open ...... because it is either not a supported file type of because the file has been corrupted( for example, it was went as an email attachment and wasn^t correctly decoded.) To create an ADOBE PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to the Acrobat distiller printer.____This message is generated whether we open the PDF that was created, or the email attachment after it is sent.____I have Adobe 5.0.5. The user has Adobe 5.0______I am using the following:__RI_PRINTER: __RI_WPTR: R&R PDF Export__RI_OUTFILE: invoice.pdf________

What operating system does the user have? It sounds like the PDF printer driver is not installing correctly.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I have recently verified that you also need the file PDFINTF.DLL along with CDINTF.DLL and ACFPDF.DRV to correctly create a PDF file under Win98.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I cannot find ACFPDF.DRV in the folder with RRWRUN.exe, or in *my* ADOBE development folders, or in *my* Windows path. I do have the other two DLLs in the folder with RRWRUN.EXE and also ACFPDF.dll and ACFPDFUI.dll.

It should be installed in the R&R program directory if you do a typical install from CD.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I just realized that this file is only installed if you are running on Win98. So if you are on NT for example and need to create a runtime distribution, you would not have an easy way to re-distribute.__I can email a copy out to you if you can give me your email address and I will post the required PDF files for download.______Kathleen__R&R Support__kfleming@livewarepub.com

The presence of the file ACFPDF.DRV solved the problem. Thanks! :D
