Group Footer Layout

Post by Dee_(Guest) » Mon Oct 28, 2002 2:54 am

Hi, ____I^m trying to print out a receipt, but I can^t get it to look right. Even though there is only 1 item in the record, but the group footer only appears on the next page.____I think its because the group footer is pretty long. I^ve tried all sorts of settings, but I still can^t get the group footer to start from the point where the record band ends. Its a major waste of space and looks odd with the empty lines running down half the page.____Does anyone know how I can get around this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

R&R does try to prevent a footer from breaking across a page and will start the footer on a new page when there is not room for the whole footer. But what you can do is duplicate that group field. So if group field one is the field xxx, make group field two xxx as well.__Then take the first half of the group 1 footers and make them group 2 footers. This will allow the group 2 footers to print on page 1 and the group 1 footers to print on page 2. You can even extend this to use the same group for each of the 8 groups and then divide the footers into 8 groups. R&R will still try to keep each group on the same page but there will be fewer to break.____Kathleen__R&R Support
