can^t connect to SQL server

Post by FRED_EMMERICH_(Guest) » Wed May 23, 2001 9:59 am

When I create a new report in R&R SQL 8.1, I attach to our SQL server. After typing the password, I get:____DB Access[Microsoft][ODBC Driver manager]Program Type out or range______And I am stuck. What is wrong here? (this is first time I have tried connecting to the SQL server)____Thanks

The problem is caused by not having the latest RSLIB.DLL and RSSQL08.DLL files in your windowssystem directory.__This can happen if you install 8.1 on a machine that previously had Arpeggio.__You can rename your existing files and then re-install R&R or you can send me your email address and I will email the latest ones to you.____Kathleen__R&R Support__kfleming@livewarepub.com

Thanks Kathleen, I got the files and I can now hook to the SQL server. I only have 1 table there and the only data I get is from the only 2 numeric fields. All the character fields are blank. Might I be doing something wrong?

Are your character fields using the new Unicode NCHAR data type?__We do not support these data types yet.____Kathleen__R&R Support
