RR RunTime Problems with Win XP

Post by thaler » Wed Jan 08, 2003 6:01 pm

I receive an error when calling RR RunTime on an machine that is running Win XP: "R & R Report Viewer has encountered a problem & needs to close".____I^ve read some postings regarding this topic. Other than modifying the .dll, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Check that there are not multiple copies of CDINTF.DLL. It is the usual suspect for the error on close problem.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I am experiencing similar problems. I checked for multiple instances of CDINTF.DLL and the only instance on my computer is in the "C:Program FilesRRVER10" subdirectory. When I view the details of the error message it seems to point to msvcrt.dll. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Did you try deleting or renaming the existing CDINTF.DLL?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Sorry for the delayed response. Our XP tests are conducted using a machine that is off-site. Therefore, it is not readily available. I should have an answer to your last question by tommorrow. ____Thank you for your help (and patience).

Several of my users on a variety of OS^s are experiencing similar problems when they try to run a report with graphs.____They all seem to be using wither XP or 2000 SP3. Several of them were running fine on 2000, but when they install sp3, they they get errors trying to run reports with graphs (regular reports are still working fine). Yet another user was working fine until he got a new monitor & video card. Upon installing his new video driver, he started getting errors trying to run his reports.____We are running R&R v9.0.008.____We were advised to check the version of gsw32.exe, and most of them have v5.0.0.0 (4/18/97), and some of them have v5.5.0.0 (11/11/98).____Will upgrading to R&R v10 solve this problem? We are getting more and more calls from our end-users about this...____Thanks,____-Nate
