Wrongly Formatted Text

Post by Taleb_Ali_(Guest) » Tue Mar 04, 2003 6:45 am

Hello Everyone ..____I^m having a view that reads from number of tables. One of the fields read is of type varchar2(500)____When I print the R&R report containing this view, this field appears in an unreadable text format. I found out that this arises whenever a field size is defined > 100 characters in the table structure.____However, from the database level, everything is just Ok.____Did anyone encounter such a case ? __Please reply with your comments and guidance.______

Are you using an Oracle 8 ODBC driver? If so, this is indeed a known issue.____Kathleen__R&R Support

We are working on a resolution. Currently the only fallback is to use an alternate ODBC driver.____Kathleen__R&R Support

You would obtain and install an alternative ODBC driver such as the Oracle driver that is available from DataDirect http://www.datadirect-technologies.com/products/odbc/odbcindex.asp____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks for the solution, however, I need to get the branded copy of this obdc driver since the driver I downloaded is an evaluation copy (will expire in 15 days) and I was told that I can get this from R&R. ____Pleaase let me know how I can get this update from R&R.____IRico

We will be including the updated Data Direct drivers in the upcoming 10.1 release but the date of availability is still to be determined.____Kathleen__R&R Support
