If the RP1 and the data files are all in the same directory (C:dir_A), then you can copy all of the files to a different directory (D:dir_B) when you open the report in C:dir_A it will find the files in C:dir_A and if you open the report in D:dir_B it will find the files in D:DIR_B.______If the report is saved in a different directory from the report (report in C:dir_A but data in C:dir_data)__then R&R remembers the full path to the data.__So if this report is in either C:dir_A or D:dir_B it will look for the data files in C:dir_data.____If the files cannot be found in c:dir_data, then we will look in the default data directory that is specified in the RR.CNF (for DOS versions) or the RRW.INI for windows versions. But this only occurs when we cannot find files in the saved location.____So to change data paths at runtime, you can hide the original files so that the default data directory is used or you can use the runtime control file to explicitly determine the path for the master and related files.____The documentation covers all of this in detail.____Kathleen__R&R Support
