Level 7 files

Post by Thomas_Freitas_(Guest) » Tue Apr 22, 2003 5:05 pm

I am getting ready to upgrade to a more powerful version of dBase. When I inquired about using R&R with this version I received the following response:____As far as I know from customers.... R&R does not support Level 7 tables. I have previously offered R&R our Level 7 File Spec for support in their product, but so far they have not responded.______Is this still true? If so, is there a time frame as to when R&R will support level 7 tables?____Thanks____Tom Freitas

Support for dBase 7 table structures was added back in Version 9.__If you look in the V10 help file, it says ____R&R also supports the following dBase7.5/2000 data types:____Character_Logical__Double__Date__Memo__Autoincrement__Numeric__Long____Note that dBase 7.5/2000 tables cannot be used with Flexlink indexing in the current release. ____If you try to report on tables containing fields with unsupported data types, you will get the following error:___Table contains unknown field type__In order to create reports on tables containing fields with unsupported data types, insert the following entry in the [Defaults] section of the RRW.INI file:___IgnoreU=1__With this setting, R&R ignores the unsupported fields.______The only other Dbase7x issue that I know about is that you cannot join long fields to autoincrement fields.____Kathleen__R&R Support
