Version 8.1 calculated fields
In R&R Xbase Version 8.1, whenever I go to edit or create a calculated field, the dialog box where the calculation is entered does not word wrap. Is there a correction or switch for this? When there is a large expression, such as using case(), it is very hard to manage without being able to see the entire line.

You can use CTRL+Enter to add carriage returns in a calculated expression.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I held down the Ctrl key and pressed enter after a + sign and all I got was two dark lines, ||. I tried to do it on a line with quote marks and got the same results.

I am not at a machine where I can verify this until next Tuesday. But I am reasonably certain that this should work (unless I am remembering the wrong keystroke combination.____Kathleen__R&R Support

It^s Tuesday, have you found out anything yet! I have tried shift-enter, alt-enter as well as ctrl-enter with no success. How can I make a new line in the calculated area in Version 8.1______Tom Freitas
=====> RE: Version 8.1 calculated fields
I just created a calculated expression and was able to use CTRL+ENTER to get things to wrap to a new line in the Expression box.__Tried it in both 8.1 and 10 and it works fine for me. Seems strange that it would not for you..__My test calc expression was 1 CTRL+ENTER +2 CTRL+ENTER +3__and it looks like__1__+2__+3____Kathleen__R&R Support

I mystifies me as well! I went to Version 10 and did Ctrl+Enter and it worked just fine, but it also automatically word wraps anyway. So on version 10 I do not need anything special. However, on Version 8.1 if I do a Ctrl+Enter all I get is that stupid double line, ||, which looks like a concatinated symbol as the lines are double the width then what they are normally.____I guess I can live with it by creating my calculated fields in V10, then doing a copy paste in version 8.1. By the way, if I create a calculated field in version 10 where there is a line feed, and I copy then paste it into Version 8.1, it comes out as one line.____Thanks anyway____Tom

I am using both v8.1 & v10, but I was having the problem with 8.1. I seemed to have fixed the problem. I changed the "Compatibility Mode" under Properties (right click on RRW.exe) back to the default (I had originally changed it to be compatible with Win98). After this change, my expressions are wrapping again.__You might try this. Thanks for your response.____
