R&R 10+ Step Up

Post by GSL » Wed Jul 02, 2003 1:39 pm

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-02-03 AT 01:40 PM (EST)]I just installed R&R 10 and 10+ Step Up on the server and workstation. I have some questions about the installation.____1. When I installed 10+ Step Up for workstation, I got an Setup error message " String variable is not large enough for string. Check the string declarations. Error 401". What does it means? ____2. What files are been copied over to workstation when doing Server/Workstation installation?____3. Why does the workstation installation didn^t copy the latest RRRPT32.DLL (dated 4/28/2003) to the workstation? My workstation is still using RRRPT32.DLL dated back to 1998? Does this mean that all the required .DLL, .OCX and files for workstation didn^t get copy over? Do I need to reinstall to fix the problem?____Thanks.

1. Were you installing the XML ODBC driver?__We think that a error in installing this guy is the source of the 401 error.____2. Should be just things that go within the windows and system directory structure.____3. It is generally best to uninstall any older version prior to installation. ____Kathleen__R&R Support

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-02-03 AT 04:41 PM (EST)]Thanks for your quick response.____I tried to uninstall the old version, but those .DLL files are still there. I have to manually delete them or over-write them with the new versions.____Does the rrwrun.exe use up license? We have 10 user licenses and when I use rrwrun.exe, it uses one license (before it didn^t) and after I am done, the license didn^t get released. Is this a known problem? Thanks.
