Viewer and WIN2K

Post by JCA » Mon Jul 02, 2001 9:51 am

I have a report that we access using the Viewer and runtime text control file. On desktops that are not WIN2K operating systems this works fine. On the WIN2K OS desktops it appears that after the report has once been run, it never refreshes from the databases on subsequent runs (keeps displaying the old data). Any thoughts?____Thanks

Are you running the viewer from an application program or directly from the O/S?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Directly from the O/S on the users desktop. The report runs fine from the application with any O/S. We are using Ver 8.1 with the 8.1.026 sevice pack update.

This may be a WIN2K issue having to do with mapped drives timing out and disconnecting. See the following Microsoft link__http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q297/6/84.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=network_drive_mapping&rnk=10&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WIN2000____When the mapped drives were unmapped, the reports functions fine.
