Database Record Refresh

Post by Ted_(Guest) » Thu Oct 16, 2003 4:38 am

Hi,____ I have just noticed that R&R does not detect any recent changes in the master table while the report is currently running. It will just read the table again when there^s a change in the filter or when you close and open the report again. Is this so? If yes, is there a way to force R&R to read again the table to take up current table updates without closing the current report. Thanks.____Regards,____Ted____R&R version = 10+__Database = Oracle 7.3.4____

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-03 AT 12:24 PM (EST)]In your RSW.INI file (in the windows directory)add a section called__DATABASE__(it will appear in brackets but the forum software strips them out of any messages...)__and in that section add a line that says:__AlwaysSelect=1____This will force the select to be re-evaluated every time you print or preview.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Hi Ms. Kathleen,____ Thank you for your reply. I tried it, but still the same, it won^t force R&R to re-evaluate. ____I tried to add these lines:__ [Database]__ AlwaysSelect=1__then these:__ [DATABASE]__ AlwaysSelect=1__then these:__ DATABASE__ AlwaysSelect=1__then these:__ database__ AlwaysSelect=1____Additional info:__ OS=Windows 2000 Service Pack 4__ R&R 10+ Build 10.1.002____I also searched for rsw.ini and it^s only 1 and in winnt folder.____Thanks and regards,____Ted____

Make sure that the line saying Database is surrounded in square brackets (just like Defaults is in the RSW.INI).____Kathleen__R&R Support

The only other solution is to close and open the report each time.____Kathleen__R&R Support
