Xbase/SQL Conversion and Exports

Post by RoyP » Thu May 27, 2004 7:01 am

SQL version 10+____I have a need to output a ^Result Set^ and use the resultant table in subsequent SQL reports.____I have done this frequently with the Xbase version over the past 10 years. We are now converting to SQL and need to convert existing reports (approx 300)____Using the Xbase version, carrying out the above is simple because dbf extracts link nicely to dbf database files, the ability to index using R+R indexes makes this even more powerful., this has proved to be a life saver on many occasions.__ __How do I convert these existing reports? i.e. I cannot link an extracted dbf file to the original data source e.g. Microsoft SQL 7. R+R currently does not appear to afford me the ability to export a file compatible with the chosen data source. Is this something in the development pot or is there another solution?____Any suggestions are very welcome this is a major problem for us.____

You can export from a SQL report to DBF and then use the Xbase version to glue things back together.____Kathleen__R&R Support
