Time for loading RunTime

Post by elg » Mon Jun 21, 2004 3:49 am

I use R&R 10.1.003 XBase __ __I have noticed differences among several systems with W2000 Server and WXP SP1 in the time that takes in leaving a report. I have carried out tests calling directly to the runtime (rrwrun.exe) from the file explorer and counting the time that takes in the screen that requests the report to open up appearing. __Reason takes 1 second in some of the W2000 Server, 9 seconds in the WXP and up to 11 seconds! in another W2000 Server? ____What can it influence in the time of load of the runtime?__ __Thank you and greetings

Are you setting the name of a printer in RI_WPTR?____Otherwise runtime will try to find the printer that is saved with the report before defaulting to the current default printer.____Note that you can explicitly set RI_WPTR to the word DEFAULT and runtime will go directly to the default printer without looking for the saved printer.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I have also noticed that if you use the normal R&R behavior to load and unload the PDF driver, instead of loading the PDF driver and renaming the loading/unloading DLL, then their is a several second delays when creating a report via the rruntime. This delay is especially noticeable and problematic when displaying reports as the delay is a pain in the but. I thus use the PDF install method.
