ODBC Problem

Post by Mike_Wilcock_(Guest) » Thu Jan 13, 2005 9:31 am

Hi,____I^m looking at the possibility of moving from R&R Xbase to SQL but seem to have fallen at the first hurdle ;(____When I try to create a datasource using the MS Foxpro ODBC Driver I get the error message...____"You must first install the current version of the Visual Foxpro ODBC driver. Goto blah, blah, blah, web address etc..."____The dbase driver works fine but I need access to CDX index files so was wondering if any of you have had this problem and know how to overcome it.____I^m using XP Pro SP2.____Any help would be appreciated.____Thanks,________Mike

Do you intend to migrate to a different SQL platform or are you staying with FoxPro?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Hi Kathleen,____My idea was to use two versions of our software. One peer to peer using foxpro tables and indexes and one using Advantage Database Server also using Foxpro tables and indexes, as not all of our customers would be willing to pay for the Advantage server.____I figured that if I use R&R SQL I could use the same reports for both and simply setup different data sources either using the Advantage odbc driver or the Foxpro odbc driver etc...____Hope this answers your question and thanks for your quick response.________Mike
