Data File

Post by WAS » Sun Jan 23, 2005 1:03 pm

I^m just starting out with R&R V11. I would like to be able to put a text file in MS Excel, make corrections and use R&R to report against the data. Should I move the data from Excel to a database like Dbase or Access first or could I keep the data in Excel?

I would save the Excel file in DBF format and then use the Xbase version of R&R. The advantage of Xbase is that each column will have an explicit field name and data type which may not always be the case with Excel.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks for your help. I have been saving Excel files in dbase3 format and the reports have been turning out great! I have ordered__Visual Dbase 5.5. Would you know if I can save the data in this database program and run against the files?

The only problem you will have with dbase 5.5 are the datetime fields which R&R currently does not support.____Kathleen__R&R Support
