Upgraded to XP from NT

Post by Rick_Johnson_(Guest) » Mon Apr 18, 2005 9:03 am

I have today upgraded to XP for NT. I installed from the 10 and 10+ cd, and copied my files back from backups into the appropriate folders). Everything is good except I cannot install the PDF driver for R&R. I have Admin rights. When Installing, after copying the 6 XP files and install program from the 10+ CD into the RRVER10 folder, I get the message Error Code 1390: The printer driver is not compatible with a policy (and then it cuts off the window and I cannot read it. )____if it makes a difference, I have the full Adobe version on my machine. ____Is there a new driver or am I the only person with this problem.?? ____Any help is appreciated, and Thanks in advance.

More Info:__I went into the install log and found the rest of the error message. it is a policy the we do not allow NT 4.0 drivers on an XP machine. So, I guess the question is whether or not there is another set of drivers?

There is a later driver from Amyuni than the one we distribute. But if you have Acrobat already, then why not use it to generate PDF output?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,__I have installed the Adobe Distiller and it is one of my printers.____Now, however, every time I go to either print(on paper to a laser) or use the distiller, I get a message the R&R has encountered an error and must close. This happens just after you press the print button on the printer screen and you have selected the printer or print to file. __I have already put PDFDRIVER=0 in the defaults section of the rrw.ini.__I also renamed the CDINTF.dll. NOthing helped.__I know you know the answer for this and I thank you in advance.

Did you try a re-install of R&R to see if that helps?____Kathleen__R&R Support
