R&R Runtime 10 on Citrix Server

Post by Paul » Thu Apr 28, 2005 5:42 pm

__Hi,____I^m experience a strange problem testing R&R runtime on my Windows 2003 Citrix Server.____If I^m logged onto the server locally, when viewing a report, I can "Print Report" in full or "Print Current Page" fine. However, if I^m running RSWRUN.exe via a Citrix session, Print report in full is fine, but if I try to Print the Current page, the application falls over leaving these details in the event log:____Source : Application Error EventID : 1000____Faulting Application rswrun.exe, version 10.1.3.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000____Has anyone come across a problem like this operating in a Citrx/TS environment?____Thanks____Paul____:)

What printer are you using? Are you double click executing RRWRUN.EXE and then manually selecting the report or are you using a control file?____Kathleen__R&R Support

__Thanks for replying! :)____I^m testing against a HP 4050 laserjet, using the PCL6 driver on the client and the Citrix HP Universal drivers on the server. We use a bespoke application which calls the *.RSW files and open the print preview window. I^ve also tried this manually by double-clicking RSWRUN.exe and selecting a *.RSW file and the problem is still the same.____I^m not exactly sure what you mean by a control file. Are you talking about the RSW.ini?____Thanks____Paul

I use an 4050 here without a problem but I am running XP and not a Citrix server.____Try adding the line:____PRINTER=DEFAULT to the DEFAULTS section of your c:windows rw.ini file and see if that makes any difference.____Kathleen__R&R Support

__Hi Kathleen,____I^ve tried putting PRINTER=DEFAULT into the RSW.INI file but still no joy! (I thought RRW.INI is for Xbase??).____"Print Current Page" operates fine when running RSWRUN locally on the Citrix Server, but doesn^t via the citrix session. I would have assumed this was a Citrix configuration problem except for the fact that Citrix sessions can print the full report fine and the application log is recording a "RSWRUN" error and not a Citrix or HP error. I^ve also noticed there have been previous postings on the discussion board from Citrix administrators having the same problem.____I^ve been through the application and our Oracle database and cannot find either a control text file or control database table that is being referenced by RSWRUN, so I am assuming that this is running with default settings! (Though I am waiting for my developers to confirm this).____Do the "Print Report" and "Print Current Page" processes function differently? Does "Print Current Page" try to reference the Current_User registry hive/setting, which may explain why it fails in a Citrix environment?____It^s a strange problem and I^ll pursue it with my developers. If you have any ideas I can throw at them it would be greatly appreciated!____Thanks for your help.____Paul
