Rpt Dictionary descriptions

Post by jconnelly » Fri Jun 10, 2005 11:47 am

Using R&R 8 and using Report Dictionary (FoxPro 5.0 table). The descriptions for new fields added to the dictionary are showing incorrectly. Looks like the description displayed for all newly added fields is the one for the last field added to the dictionary table. So the Insert Field box looks something like this:____ExTot1: ExistingTotal1__ExTot2: ExistingTotal2__NTot1: NewTot3__NTot2: NewTot3__NTot3: NewTot3____Have double checked the dictionary table and the descriptions are correct in it. Have reindexed the table as well. Can even change the description for NTot3 to TEST and then description for NTot1, NTot2, and NTot3 become TEST.____Any ideas?

We updated the dictionary to a new and much better format a few releases ago. You might want to upgrade to the most recent ReportWorks release if you need dictionary support. ____Any bugs in the earlier version will not be addressed I am afraid so upgrading it really the only solution.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks anyway. We are currently testing version 11 but implementing is a ways off. Until then, I am trying to find a fix for my users.

Just so I know, is this a known bug or issue? Want to know if I am wasting my time trying to solve this or not.
