RW 11 runtime error with FoxPro 8

Post by Daithi_c » Wed Jul 20, 2005 9:33 am

Hi,____I have a client who was using ReportWriter 7 reports run via a FoxPro application.____Recently they got an upgrade to ReportWorks 11.__We were told that existing reports would run via FoxPro without modification.____Their IT support person installed the runtime files for version 11 on a workstation, and it now generates an OLE error code 0x80040154 Class not registered OLE object being ignored and a record number. It also pops up a dialog box which says that the OLE object on the FoxPro form is an Unknown member.____Is there some other step which is required to allow FoxPro to use the new version of rrw32.ocx ?____Thanks to anyone who can point us in the right direction.____Dave Connolly__Province of Prince Edward Island__Canada__

Did the creator of the application re-compile the app using the newer OCX control?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____I installed the runtime and foxpro database files for ReportWorks 11, edited the forms which were giving OLE errors, recompiled, set the RRW.INI to point the directory where RRWRUN.EXE was installed, and the reports appear to be working (on this workstation at least). I^ll test the new executable, and edited RRW.INI at the client and post another message if we encounter any further problem.____Thanks very much for your assistance.____Dave Connolly__
